DaredevilDave got what he wanted

By reaching out to Performa via Facebook on a regular basis, I helped them decide to create a shaker bottle with the iconic double-D Daredevil logo. It actually came out last year, but thanks to the pandemic, I only got it recently. Here is our story.

Batman_Daredevil_Gif.gifPerforma first caught my attention at a GNC in Montréal a few years ago and I bought myself their classic “Perfect Shaker” with the Batman logo because he is, obviously the best hero ever (not super, since he has no supernatural powers, per se). I have had it for years now and still use it regularly. To say that I am a satisfied customer, would be a ridiculous understatement.

But something was missing…

I made sure to like and subscribe
So like a good little customer, I started following them on Facebook and seeing what other superhero logos they were putting on their bottles (I really loved the Wolverine one, too). But I noticed that they didn’t have a Daredevil bottle and that was about the point that I had gotten into the Netflix series, so I went into social media overdrive.

Comments, posts and my very own hashtag
Luckily, their social media team consists of good sports who played along and even gave me a pretty sweet nickname/hashtag: #DaredevilDave. I was honored and I worked hard to live up to the moniker.

Performa_Daredevil_pic.jpgEvery time they posted an announcement of some kind, I would put in little jabs and humorous comments first complimenting their new product and then cheekily asking for a bottle with a Daredevil logo; regardless of the topic. Once in a while I would mention them in my own posts asking for one and then one day I watched a Facebook livestream and put in a comment asking Mark, one of the co-founders, to finally put out a Daredevil bottle. And he answered (yes, I geeked out a little), saying they were working on one but wanted to make sure they got the design just right. Check out the announcement post here, complete with my comment making sure this was for real.

They got it right. I love it (see pic).

COVID got in the way
Unfortunately, due to shipping costs, I had to have it shipped to my parents’ house in the US. Then the pandemic hit and no one could travel anywhere.

Fast forward about a year and my Mom sent it to me as a surprise. I was ecstatic (Thanks, Mom!) and I have been using it almost daily ever since.
