Meet my blue dragon
I used a bunch of miniature blue Star Wars X-Wing fighter lego sets (and several additional pieces) to build a blue dragon using instructions for my son’s red dragon as a template. I am proud of this.
One year for his birthday, my son got a bunch of miniature blue Star Wars X-Wing fighter lego sets (I tried to find them online, but couldn’t.). Looking at them, all built up, it occurred to me that we could use them to build a blue dragon to fight (or befriend) the red dragon he built a few months earlier.
Working on it here and there, it took us a few months to get all the pieces together and have something that looked like the original. Scroll on down for a few pictures.
Why do it? Just because
I could get into how it was relaxing and a way to distract myself from the daily grind of working in a big corporation. Like how a lot of adults today buy complex coloring books to unwind. But, honestly, none of that went through mind when I started. I really saw it as a challenge and, as a Lego fan from way back, I just wanted to see if I still could do something like this.
I could.
And it was relaxing. And a nice way to spend time with my son.
Enjoy.
Again, please click the pics for a better look.
This is the instruction manual for the original red dragon. My son has since added many features to it, so it doesn’t really look like this anymore. And that is a good thing.
Here is my blue dragon. You like?
Another angle.
A little closer up. Look at the details. :-)
And finally, once more from the front, but from the other side.
